When I saw Citizen-con this passed year, I became hopeful. Mostly due to crafting and resource stats/gathering along with base building/city building. Anyone that played SWG Pre-CU, or CU can tell you, a player driven economy and player driven cities are an amazing experience that has been lost. If Star Citizen can recapture that magic, this game will be better than more players will have ever experienced. The things I look for as we move closer to 1.0 are: base/city building (how many planets can we build on) crafting and resource stats/gathering (how much control over crafting does the player have, how much variance over items crafted does the resource stats create) social tools (guilds/orgs and party UI, do we have the ability to create our own communities within the game, can we get groups going without fear of backstabbing all the time if we do pick up groups for recruitment reasons) power "creep" (progression systems that have substance. The light fighter or any other single seat ship should not be a threat to a multicrew ship or there is no reason to have them over a fleet of single seat ships) story/lore (Is there a world building effort, something that people can invest in with a story that has weight rather than a series of pointless decisions) factions (We see factions exist already, but how far they take this with faction shops and rewards will matter) player driven content (the ability to create events that the hosts can control, but that the participants can trust) static content (Ghost Hollow type of content just waiting for players to activate it) dynamic content (SoO, JT, and NT type events that are available on a schedule. This schedule needs to be frequent and consistent with a different dynamic event active at any given time) Player Control (Can we select what server we play on, can we create private servers as promised, are we forced to pvp in order to progress or are there pve methods as well) This list isn't comprehensive, but it is some of the main focuses I have as we get closer to a 1.0 release. Again, I don't think many people here remember or have played Star Wars Galaxies, but for those of us that do or have, you all know this is how a sandbox should be built, and CIG said this was a sandbox.
