I want to restate this comment because I think it is important for the community. Starfield is a GOOD thing for SC, and arrives with nearly perfect timing in order to help! Right now there are so many bugs and problems with SC, that many new players coming over here to try SC are having a bad experience and going to hate it and never come back-- It would be much better if those players would go play something else until CIG manages to get the alpha more stabilized, and enjoyable. SC is the best spaceship game ever, "when it is working" Starfield is doing SC a huge favor if it can distract a lot of new players for the rest of the year while SC gets its bugs fixed, and maybe gets the difficult progress completed on server meshing under the hood. Server meshing construction has to happen now, and the alpha is up on blocks with its engine being reconstructed-- everything is broken for a while during this critical repair work. By the time new players are finished with playing and replaying Starfield, and begin looking for some other spaceship experience, SC should be much more stable and be a much better game for them to play. Starfield is a singleplayer game with a beginning and end, and eventually it will be played out, and new players will search out for something different. It would be a much better result to retain new players and casually interested gamers, if they avoid SC bugs and 30ks for the rest of this year. And come join instead maybe next summer when things are fixed and working much smoother. So I think we will find that Starfield is a huge blessing in disguise for SC. SC is the best spaceship game ever "when it is working". Starfield can distract a lot of new players until next year when SC is actually working much better, and ready for a new influx of fresh paying players. SC is its own worst enemy right now with all its bugs and account problems. Starfield will fill the gap until SC is a much better experience. The timing is nearly perfect, to help SC get back on its feet as it tries to incorporate server meshing. SC will get all those excited new players next year, and keep them.
