Greetings Citizen, yesterday me and a friend were discussing if it would be better or worse for the development of Star Citizen to have an opponent or better competitor game in development on the market. Let us say, EA realizes that the amount of money that Star Citizen collected and the amount of interested persons for that game genre are enough to start an own MMO. They would start to create an MMO like Star Citizen but with their Star Wars License. So you would be in an ego persective "shooter" world and could fly all ships like fighter as X-Wing, A-Wings, Tie Fighter, but even the middle ones like Corvettes, Millenium Falcon, or the big ones like Star Destroyers and Calamari Cruisers, etc. You could visit alll known Star Wars Planets with landing zones without loading screens, build bases and cities, mine, bounty hunting, etc. Or in shot, everything that Star Citizen plans to have but with the extra that you could choose a side to play on like Empire, Rebellion, neutral, Black Sun, etc. [Set up between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes" back with an ongoing living hostry in the known universe and settings] [Extreme Theory Crafting, I know ] But here are some of our Star Citizen related questions: Would it be good or bad to have a competitor on the market? Would People wander away from Star Citizen and maybe join such a project? Is the development and the achievements CIG made so far really that hard to achieve so that another Developer can not easily start/copy such an idea? What other general thoughts do you have about this? We really would like to hear your opinion about that.
