Alright, so we all heard the sounds of strange people crying tears of joy over the announcement of this game. But it is not immediately obvious just what Beyond Good and Evil 2 is. With a couple minutes of research one will discover that BGAE2 is, in fact quite similar to Star Citizen. The devs are obnoxiously proud of the fact that they have 'invented' a technology similar to the CitizEngine, and a big part of the game is the acquisition of ships which seem to function a lot like SC's (multiplayer interiors, ships-in-ships, etc.). It has real-time economic simulation and procedural planets. The devs are trying to involve players much earlier and much more broadly into the development than any game I can think of other than Star Citizen. The difference is in gameplay and presentation: whereas SC focuses on the acquisition of material wealth, BGAE2 is more concerned with the befriending of NPC crew for your ship(s). It's a much more fast-paced, colorful universe. A narrative and character driven game which is designed to (optionally) be played single player only. Like more conventional RPGs, it has a beginning and an end. Some might call it 'casual Star Citizen'. Others might call it 'fun Star Citizen.' I'm curious to read your thoughts. What does this game mean for SC? What does SC mean for BGAE2?
