A message to the Covalex Delivery Manager I’m just writing to let you know that I’ve been working hard to get your packages delivered. The last several runs have not gone as well as they have in the past. Your contracts are tough, requiring every package in a set to be delivered before we can collect payment. Believe me, getting your packages delivered is as important to me as it is to you and your customers. I’m sorry that I’ve been coming up short and only getting 4 of 5 or 3 of 4 delivered on any given contract. Just to let you know what I’ve been dealing with. Package locator markers have been registering under the pickup facility, underground, inaccessible to the average delivery pilot. A package at a derelict site was well guarded, and after picking my way through the guards, it was clear that they had secured it to the platform preventing it from being picked up, tractor beamed, or even bumped with my ship. Ok, on one flight, I lost focus and crashed my ship while enroute to the outpost, I’m sure it happens to the best pilots, it was late and I had to give up for the night. And get this, I was trying to get back into the good reputation column with your company, got 2 of the 3 packages delivered, but the third was well guarded by a bad guy in a Drake Cutlass Black. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem for me, but to go easy on my fuel budget, was using the Anvil Pisces C8R, and just couldn’t get enough damage on that Cutlass with the stock bulldog repeaters to take him out. Now, you know me, not one to give up that easy, but when I returned to my home planet to take out one of my more powerful ships, but the air traffic control at Area 18 staff must have been on strike today, because they would not respond to my hails, no matter how many times I called.
