This friend (girl) fell in love with the concept of Star Citizen and the whole idea of experiencing a photo-realistic seamless journey and exploration from planet to planet with vibrant ecosystems of nature and vast structures/communities. When I showed her clips of the game she was so excited about the idea of a game that she could explore beautiful scenery and involve in different kinds of professions and activities. Then she asked me: "but, do I have to fight?". That's pretty much when it hit me and I realized, this game would have a larger reach of an audience if it did have a second life kind of element to it but as we know, combat in ship or first-person shooter form is a core of the game as its marketed for space combat lovers in the first place. This is prevalent with the addition of interdiction where someone transitioning from one planet or location to another has a chance of being pulled out of the safety bubble(Quantum jump) by pirates to engage in unpredictable scenarios of combat, of which my friend might not be a big fan of having to experience. She might like to base herself in social , exploration or industrial professions which would definitely fulfill her purpose of investing time in the game! I guess I'm not really proposing a new game idea but I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on whether the game can support lovers of a second life game experience while not necessarily requiring combat engagement. Would it work out that way? what little tweaks or aspects can the game have to support such game play without having to go off-course with the original idea?
