Okay so the FTL communication implications of Ibrihim were fairly obvious. The devs tried to hedge against burning cycles to fast com info with the whole "memories may be fuzzy", which kind of works to discourage its trivial use. Probably people would still try, but there's a bigger problem that might make them want to reverse that. A persons status as either alive or dead is a binary value; so you can ... you can kill people in patterns to communicate data at faster than light. Like you can send a ship full of living people to a place (they can be in cryo) and then use that to send messages across the verse at faster than light. This could even create some fun stories. Desperate heroes could sell cycles. They could rescue people from selling their cycles. Bad guys could force people into cycle deals. Criminals could barter cycles in exchange for time off.
