Last night, December 19, 2051, two Citizens conducted Dark Harvest - The Path of Least Repect. With rising costs of replacing armor, weapons, ammo, utilities, and sustenance, Death and Consequences is taking its grim toll on Citizens suffering from glitches, bugs, desync, and other unjust anomalies. Many a Citizen has been rendered bankrupt by the 3.15.1 Era of 2951. Last night, two Citizens conducted an operation to buffer the Consequences of Death and Consequences. No longer is this about aUEC. This had moved beyond insult to the individual Citizen by poor planning of the Developers. The cries of destitute pilots and ground forces who loyally served the United Earth Empire at Odin System and other theatres of war wracked by the Vanduul met with deaf ears. Veterans rendered penniless now have turned to the Dark Harvest. What is the Dark Harvest, one might ask? It is the scavenging of secondhand gear from foes during FPS missions. The Dark Harvest strips fallen enemies of their armor, their weapons, ammunition, and Undersuits. It also strips them of dignity and humanity as new, inanimate objects on the field of action. The Dark Harvest then insults the dead further by leaving naked corpses out in the frozen cold, the baked deserts, or the vast graveyard of empty space as equipment becomes laundered for reuse by Citizens fed up with loss of their gear upon death. The Dark Harvest is the answer to 3.15.1 Death and Consequences. While many pilots adhere to a code, a standard of morals, an aesthetic of outer wear, the crunch of bankruptcy has forced some Citizens to throw style and gentility, yay even their humanity to the torrents of Calliope, Clio, Wala and other moons with murderous winds and deadly weather. The Dark Harvest is the solution to the daily if not hourly deaths Citizens suffer due to the failure of the Developers to create a safer ambient environment deemed normal for the average veteran of the Vanduul War. Last night, Citizens took a mission titled “URGENT: Boarding Action In Progress”. Two Citizens answered the “Call To Arms” and departed in an Expedition-class Carrack complete with a Regeneration Medical Bay. The two Citizens blasted pirate Cutlasses out of the skies about the Origin Jumpworks 890 Jump, a space yacht. With the skies now clear, the true operation, the Dark Harvest could commence. Sniping and mowing down embedded hijackers, the Citizens stormed the yacht, killing every hijacker found. With a single hijacker trapped inside the forward gunnery turret, they began tractoring corpses over to the Carrack. When the final foe was slain like a badger in its warren burrow, the stripping of the corpses, the true Dark Harvest commenced. Piece after piece of Security Guard and hijacker armor was dropped into boxes on the deck of the Garage aboard the Carrack. The dead were given little consideration save for the Security who were tractored back aboard the yacht, laid just inside the left-open airlock. Gear piece after gear piece , weapons included were scavenged with little respect for the dead. Naked hijackers were spaced into orbit above microTech to burn up upon re-entry or to become orbital meat popsicles, freeze-dried for eternity. Grim was the task, yet desperate times call for desperate measures. No longer would death cost a Citizen much in the way of aUEC. Secondhand gear would now be available in a Citizen’s home Local Inventory. Weapons and looted ammunition would become the fallback when death by server imperfections struck. No longer would glitches and bugs bite so hard on the Wallet. Citizens would be free to conduct missions and be compensated for completions with minimal aUEC investment. Once the corpses were inhumanely ejected from the Carrack with little consideration or respect, the Carrack then pulled into ports where the secondhand gear could be unloaded and thus laundered anew, ready for use in the next mission. The Developers of Star Citizen have forced this upon the Citizens. They are to blame for the Dark Harvest. ”…Happy Luminalia…”
