Sponsored by King Freeman of Draconia ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an open, co-op roleplay where science fiction crosses with fantasy. Much like Star Trek, the emphasis will be on exploration, discovery, and problem solving; not combat, however combat will be part of the RP. Any science-fiction and/or fantasy universe may be used, with a few exceptions which I will list below: 1. Warhammer 40k: Since this is meant to be a cooperative roleplay, not a grimdark one, the Warhammer universe is not permitted here. This is ESPECIALLY true of the horrors of the Terran Imperium since I do not condone Exterminatuses, AKA genocidal mass murder of innocent lives. I will permit Warhammer Fantasy, however, but it must conform to certain rules which are designed to take it out of the "grimdark" category, and make it more lighthearted and akin to the Inheritance Cycle. (More info about these rules on request.) 2. Dead Space. Similar to my reasoning for not allowing the Warhammer universe, I do not permit Lovecraftian horror in my RPs. 3. The Expanse. I can't stand this series' fans, which claim The Expanse is super-realistic when in fact it's about as realistic as Space Battleship Yamato. I cannot seem to bring up this fact without it turning into a fight, so I think it best to ban it from my RPs outright. Here are the rules for the roleplay: 1. No banned crossovers 2. No grimdark. We can go dark, if you wish, but grimdark is absolutely forbidden. 3. No godmodding, however should canon characters be encountered, your characters are allowed to perform "limited metagaming" - they are allowed to know things about them you might have heard via TV. 4. No gatekeeping. You WILL encounter fantasy creatures such as dragons in various science fiction universes. They may not be native to that 'verse, but they will be there. 5. No adults-only franchises. Nothing rated R, and if I see any X-rated posts you will be immedately blocked. (This means no South Park, no Rick and Morty, etc,) 6. No foul language. For the most part this goes without saying, but I also do not want characters throwing F-bombs around since that causes issues with me. Any characters that use that word will be kicked out. 7. Minimum post length is two lines. Maximum is indefinite, so long as it's readable. Also, if any posts go into TL;DR length or are unreadable as judged by me, they will be skipped. 8. Do not expect your fellow players to match post length, especially if you write in the paragraph or novella format. You should, however, expect players to do their best. (Me, I'm a short-poster but will occasionally write longer posts.) These rules are subject to change, as is the list of banned sci-fi franchises. Also, while this game (Star Citizen) is not allowed to use Freelancer's characters, ships and etcetera, that does not extend to roleplay. Therefore, characters from Freelancer such as Edison Trent and ships such as the LNS Missouri can and will make appearances. Additionally, I will be your DM, controlling all the NPCs, however I will also be one of the players, writing my own posts. The RP will start in orbit of Earth, in the Star Trek universe. Right off the bat, there will be several crossovers. Those ships and crews are off-limits and controlled by me as NPCs. You WILL encounter dragons, including my character Kerry. You are welcome to question them about the hows and whys of their existence, but you are not allowed to gatekeep them out. My next post will be the start of the RP. For now I will leave 24 hours for questions related to the RP. EDIT: Question and answer time has ended. As soon as the first person posts, introducing their character, I will make my own first post.
