Got an idea for updating the lore about Grey's Market to make the manufacturer fit into the universe a bit better. The original Grey's Market is exactly as it currently is Grey Chaudrey making custom ships in the junk yard. However, Grey Chaudrey no longer has anything to do with the company that we're getting ships from he signed a contract that he didn't fully understand and was forced out and they owned his likeness think George Zimmer (Men's Wearhouse) or Wally Amos (Famous Amos) and is quite bitter about it. The new management has pristine manufacturing facilities but they are all about selling a lifestyle to bored rich people, think Harley-Davidson, Carhartt, or Patagonia. Doing this will explain why would every Basher come stock with battle damage because it is outlaw, why would every Shiv come with a bucket because you are tough and rugged, and why can you can swap around the spike layout because you can chose what kind of badass you are.
