Hello all! I am drawing up a character concept for some RolePlay and I wanted to see if anyone had anymore insight into how the Navy and UEE Navy Academy might function. I'm specifically creating a timeline to the present and need to answer the following questions: (Where actual stated lore does not exist, getting some opinions on what you think it would be would be helpful) 1. At what age would be typical for a person to enlist in the academy? I found some lore on Equivalency and that seems to be around 13-14 and that is a prerequisite to joining the military. Is it safe to assume then that a person might join the academy as young as 13-16? 2. At what point would a person complete their stay at the academy? It looks like the US Navy Academy is a traditional 4 year program. Would we say that the UEE Navy Academy is similar? 3. Is there any more training in between the academy and serving on an actual vessel? (this character will serve up to the point where he is a Navigation officer) 3a. On this subject, what might be the path from joining to serving? I was US Army IRL and I went -> enlist -> bootcamp -> AIT (technical training) -> serving in an actual unit. For an aspiring Naval officer, how might that flow work for the SC universe? 4. What rank is a navy navigator typically? (I couldn't find any examples of RL navigator ranks through a Google search) 5. For my timeline, I need to get timeframes for #1-3 so that I can estimate a date of entry into the academy and a date of beginning of actual service. I know that not all, or maybe even most, of this exists as written lore, but I'm just looking for some input before I hash it out. Thanks in advance!
