First encounter December 15, 2949 Travel from Lorville to Microtech in my Aquila. Approximately 8:15 travel. Arrival on day side of planet. Orbital station was located directly on opposite side. Traveled to OM6 and plotted course directly to surface. Chose a non-snow covered stretch of land mass. Atmosphere entered at approximately 100,000km from surface. Descent was fairly standard, with the exception of a storm system encounter as I neared the surface. Vast majority of land mass is snow covered. Landing zone. Grass covered along with several types of plant life. Surface is largely covered with larger stone masses, which makes landing require more care. Several tree species on the surface, with many broken and toppled, most likely due to the frequently violent storm systems. One such system began on my descent to the planet. Care must also be taken to leave the ship powered and engines running to compensate for the wind. The ship was noticeably affected by the wind when the engines were cycled down. Upon leaving my ship, I encountered a significant amount of moisture accumulating on my visor. Upon reentry to my ship, the moisture required about 30 seconds to dry from my suit.
