I wrote this as an example in another thread, but felt it was good enough to make it my official bio, and share it with everyone here. Enjoy Malock Slurn, (callsign Demonsoul) grew up moving from planet to planet, his parents both geologist working for a terraforming organization and contracted by the UEE to study the long term effects of previously terraformed planets. He never had a planet to call home, all he had was his small bunk space on board his parents retrofitted Freelancer. The cargo hold was converted into living space, and a small science lab. He spent more time on that ship than he spent on any planet surface. He knew every inch of that ship, and by the time he was a teen he could fly and repair the ship as well as any MISC technician. When he reach adulthood his parents suggested he enlist with the UEE and get his citizenship. Even though his parents were well respected within the UEE science community, the military could care less. He would often have issues with authority, and because of that never made it into the fighter pilot training program. Instead he was assigned to pilot a MPUV and ferry troops from one capital ship to another. During his last six months of service aboard an Idris-P, the Navy was in a heated battle with the Vanduul in the Vega system. His ship was assigned to hunt down the Vanduul resupply ship hidden in the Vega Beta asteroid belt. Once they arrived a squadron of fighters left the ship to flush out the Vanduul from the belt. After an hour their comms went silent, and explosions could be seen deep in the asteroid belt. A second wave of fighters were gearing up to locate the first wave and complete the original mission when a faint transmission from one of the downed pilots broke the silence. He reported a loss of the entire squadron with three survivors who managed to EVA to a small cave inside a large asteroid. His report goes on to say the Vanduul have established a large resupply depot in one of the denser asteroid clusters, and it was very well guarded. The Brass were arguing about whether or not to send in more fighters or wait for support from the rest of the fleet. The pilots were banging their fist on the bulkheads wanting to rescue their brothers, and get revenge for their fallen. Malock couldn't stand by and do nothing, one of those fighter pilots was his closest friend, and they didn't have enough air to last while reinforcements are called in from the fleet. After talking with a few of the flight deck crew he managed to convince them to let him take his MPUV into the belt to rescue the pilots. Before he was set to launch one of the second wing pilots opened the door of the MPUV and set a small box on the floor behind Malocks seat. All he said to Malock was give this to one of the pilots they will know what to do with it. Just as ship security arrived on the flight deck and the main doors were beginning to close Malock blasted into space. He quickly shut off comms and pointed his MPUV in the direction of the asteroid the pilots were holed up in. The Vanduul expecting more fighters from the fleet didn't notice the small shuttle hugging close to the asteroids, and he manages to slip past every patrol. The downed pilots were shocked to see him when he arrived, and he told them it would probably be his last flight, because the pending court-marshal would more than likely have him busting rock in a prison colony in the near future. Once the pilots all got aboard his friend noticed the box on the floor. He looked at the other pilots and said "Is it possible?" The others raised their shoulders in disbelief. Malock asked, "Whats in the box?", and his friend replied, "That's classified". Pomazon then asked if Malock could get them closer to the depot. Malock almost fell out of his chair laughing, and said "Are you nuts?" which he replied "No, but if you can't we understand and one of us will pilot the ship instead. "Hell no this is my ship and I'm the pilot." he responded. With that he slipped out of the cave and continued his barnstorming of asteroids to get them closer to the depot. After some very close calls avoiding Vanduul patrols they managed to get very close, but the only line of sight to the depot was a fully exposed rock with no cover, and fully lit by Vega. Continued...
