You may have heard about some people who call themselves players, but their is no visible difference between them and those who do not. Yeah, they may have some mental issues --- walking into the vacuum of space without a helmet; trying to sell you goods that you don't want; or dumping unwanted gear and garbage on the ground --- but if you have payed any attention to them, you may have found some interesting phenomena occur. The one we are reporting on today is what they refer to as 'Logging out.' Now as we understand the term, you would think that they are talking about the process of disconnecting from a secure terminal, but you would be wrong. If you find one of these 'players' 'logging out' from inside their ship while in space, you may witness the ship vanishing. You can even destroy their engines so they cannot just fly or jump away, but the person and their ship are still capable of vanishing should you let your eyes off of them for a moment. What makes this perplexing is that these players, when 'Logging in,' usually re-appear in the same location from which they vanished. Some theorists suspect that it is some form of zero speed quantum shift, but have yet to gather any proof since it is a phenomena that only occurs when the vessel is not being observed. It is rumored that some less scrupulous people have attempted to target known 'Log out' locations of large cargo vessels with quantum interdiction equipment only to come up short. Though there appears to have been at least one reported incident where a victim had been 'minding his own business' while trying out his new mantis at one such point and had a ship drop out of quantum right in front of him, destroying his ship and nearly killing him in the collision. Both vessels were obliterated, and the victim denies being at fault for the incident. You may think the phenomena would only be able to occur with the presence of a quantum drive, but you may also find these 'players' simply vanishing from public areas in almost the same way. If you observe one of these individuals who say they are logging off, you will find that, as soon as you blink, they disappear, and when they 'Log in' again, it is usually from one of the private sleeping quarters that they reappear. It is not like they just ran to the sleeping quarter when you where not looking, since even the security footage shows them vanishing between frames. But, is it even possible for the human body to undergo a quantum jump, even if it is a zero speed quantum shift? Is there some other alien tech at work here? What do you think?
