In my character's backstory I want to have a few of my ships be salvaged hulls that I take ownership of and repair back to a functioning state. What kind of lore is there around claiming an abandoned ship? So far I've been going with something like what it described in the series of books "The Human Chronicles". They find a ship, get it towed back to a nearby station, and then apply for salvage rights. Then there is a search done for any reported stolen or lost ships and trying to find registered owners. If after several months nothing is found and nobody comes forward to claim the ship then ownership is handed over to the salvager. Would that kind of process work in SC's lore? If not, how far off would it be to something that would fit?
