Day 1: Bad dreams Woke up with a huge headache. New Babbage? Can’t remember I parked here. .. Must have been a good drink. Or abused by aliens, again. Heck, I don’t even bother anymore; this fine and lovely and somehow cursed system is known to give one a headache, once in a while. Down to 25 k Credits, just a jump suit left and some pieces of armor I have never seen before. Shopping time! Took out my Red, noticed the busy as usual crowd around town on my way. Though, the gang standing on their chairs seems to have left. I won’t miss them. Creepy bunch! Aboard the Red, I catch some wild memories of my former travels with it. Not all of them make much sense. Like exploding after walking that ramp. Did that really happen or is it just my imagination? There’s something different with the med beds, too. I’ll catch up to that. Found a picture in the ship’s locker. Did I make that? Says „Close Escort 400t, Gazelle Class, Ancestor’s build“ on the back. Somehow feels like it’s from another part of the galaxy. Weird. Went straight to Crusader and Port Olisar. It’s still there! I love this station. And it got my favourite shops. With my favourite armor and guns. Though, that names! ORC. Inquisitor. Lumin. … they must have taken those from some fantasy novels. But, I guess, that’s marketing. Nobody wants to equip just a gun. It HAS to have a cool name. I’m fine with that. Alright then, Lady Inquisitor, on for some Credits hunting bounties! Day 1: Bad shooting And that’s where I learned that I must have become a bit rusty. That guild just wanted to see, whether you can handle the weakest of targets, before letting you hang out with bigger fish. Yeah, know what, that „weakest target“ got the better of me and my Arrow, within a minute. Amidst the fiery explosion came more memories. Looks like I have been there a lot. Amidst explosions, I mean. But, the hospital on NB is really nice and shiny and clean. I have a feeling, I’ll see that white haired woman at the end of my med bed more often in the days to come. At some point I’ll ask for her name. So. Ship insured, armour and stuff lost, down to 10k Credits. Guess I’ll fly in underwear, until 15k are not half my money anymore. At least the drinks on NB are very affordable. To make me feel better, I hopped in that Aurora and had a cruise. Sweet, little, fragile box. I will never dump it for an upgrade. As I made my very first kilometers around this Verse in it. Some time ago. Then I got this call. From someone in need of rescue. On Aberdeen. Yes, I hear you laughing, but this moon didn’t ring a bell at that time. Rusty. Slow. Notoriously light headed. That’s me. Building a business on that will be a challenge. So, I went there and got the first idea of something more going on there with the warning of trespassing restricted property. Right, the prison! Damn. I stuck to the mission and landed next to that guy. That location was beyond reach of the prison’s cannons. That guy knew what he was doing. In contrast to me. We departed in a haste. Nice girl I am, I then offered him the pilot seat, so he could navigate his best way home. That’s when he shot me. I fell, and lights went out. Something happened, I groaned. Yes, came the answer, I shot you and am taking your ship. That’s sad, I replied, experiencing blurred vision and muffled noise. Interesting state that incapacitated. You need to fetch that small window between darkness and light to utter your words. I lost track of time, while that guy gave up dragging me out of the Aurora. Funny thing was, my cruise before depleted almost all the fuel. The man needed to find some place to fuel up, before making the run for Grim Hex. Karma. In the meantime I complained about getting dizzy, not feeling my legs anymore, also contemplating about following the lights. Must have been a show in global comms network. Eventually, the guy promised to heal me. The dying swan softening him up. Problem was, carrying crime stats and not getting to GH for lack of fuel, makes acquiring a med gun difficult. In the end, I was left alone. In my Aurora. And at one point I gave up. Not even got the money to spend for a rescue beacon. That’s when I met white hair again. Day 1: new home Now, I am sitting in the lobby of HUR L3. Smaller place, less people, fresh start, white hair just another memory. Tomorrow, I’ll be out there again. I'll be damned if this day keeps me from looking out for pilots in need of medical support. Never give up, never surrender. Now, where did I get that slogan from? Never mind.
