As a heavy fighter pilot, I would really like to apologize to the haulers out there. I know it is very frustrating that I prey on you guys but I have to be honest, I don't really want too. I just have no choice. Im a Vanguard Pilot through and through, love them all. Primarily the Sentinel, what a lovely ship. I fell in love with it at first sight, spent the money upgraded my package and chose the Vanguard life. No regrets at all. As times change, worlds evolve and games progress, as did the Vanguards ability to engage in activities. It's "long range" fuel diminished to that of a light fighter, it's projectile speeds basically limited to 1350 m/s or slower, it's missiles than no longer fire, it's emp and distortions reduced to meme stature, and all of the other blissful changes have left it no place, except ... to attack Haulers. Not by choice, so I apologize. It was classed out of PvP due to extremely slow project speeds and abysmal handling ( yes, F8C, I know it could be worst buddy but im on your side here). PvP is currently light fighters, the daring Medium Fighters and Capitals, no in-between. We cant face the light fighters as the can just orbit us, boop our bottoms all day for fun until the get bored, and finally offer us a free respawn, and Capitals, well if the laser don't melt your face off, the PDCs will. So, not being able to dance the cha cha with nimble chihuahua light fighters or even scratch the paint of Solo Mijo capitals, what do we do? Well, we blow the dust off of our ammo reserves on the only thing a heavy fighter is good for, preying on Haulers. While I wish times were different, It is an unfortunate reality ... they forced our hand. We love you, we are just bored and need something to do. So the next time a heavy fighter blows up your cargo ship just know, we wouldn't if we had literally anything else to do.
