I know that this forum has not been finished yet, but still it has to be said that it is pretty much sub-standard for forum roleplay. I have been forum roleplaying for more than 15 years and even the most basic UBB forum software allows for a few features that are imo absolutely necessary to allow players to make communication threads that look in-roleplay and not like an oorp text forum. Most important features, in my opinion: > Images right in the post: It would be really useful to be able to include pictures directly into the post instead of having them scaled in a frame like an attachment. That option could also be used for transmission bars (see attached pictures below), to make communications look futuristic, as in this (still rather basic) example from Freelancer forum roleplay. Basically, something like UBB's [img], with the "float" and "size" parameters to scale pictures and have text flowing around them would be cool. > Colours: Pretty self-explanatory, yet they can do a lot. "high encryption Level" could be written in red, "low encryption" goes with green. > Hidden links: http://... breaks the immersion immediately. An imgur-link in a roleplay post ruins it, as imgur will always immediately be recognised as "real world". A link could read in the text like in this example: << Download Mission File: Y / N ? >> > More text sizes: Proper writing needs a few more levels of headlines. Especially in longer stories, proper structuring makes for good writing. > Horizontal lines: Things like the UBB [hr] tag are very practical to structure texts. It would be great if we could get these features because with 3.0 I think a lot of us will want to start roleplaying for real, build our diplomacy irply and beautiful looks and aesthetic style help a lot in making forum roleplay feel like "in the world" and not like "typing text on a forum". Thank you for reading. Please definitely add the functions that you think are necessary for roleplaying. I'll gladly edit them into the OP. :slightly_smiling_face: I am really looking forward to doing forum roleplay with you guys! It's going to be glorius! ~ Jack P.S: This is what Transmission Bars look like and how it is meant to imo look in a roleplay forum where you send each other irp transmissions. The second one is the "best" result I managed in SC forums and it is not really comparable, sadly.
