William Sagas - Young Tales Chapter 1: Skyfall The year is 2935, these are the adventures of a young boy who lived in zephyr on the planet Hurston in the Stanton Star system. During his early adventures Williams was an inquisitive young boy seeking to soar amongst the stars. His dream was to one day touch the stars that surrounded him. Given his limited education he learned by doing and this involved his many adventures while also getting into trouble along the way. His parents loved him but were afraid that his adventurous spirit would get him hurt or worse killed. They took every protective measure to ensure his safety. But one night that all changed… Hekla got into the pilot seat of the craft. She turns on the power and then the engines. As she starts to gain altitude, she sees a city in the distance, Zephyr. She starts to head that way, and by the time she gets there her fuel was nearly out. The ship's fuel and altitude warnings were blaring as she got closer and closer to the mountain side, but soon crash landed on the side of the mountain.. Meanwhile in the small village of zephyr. Williams was out late, it was way past curfew for him and his parents were going to be livid when he got in. He’d planned his excuse carefully. He would say to them that he was out in the fields learning about Roc mining with the adults in the village. He knew nothing about Roc mining and how the men operated their big machinery but it was a white lie. Truly his parents weren’t that smart m?… were they?… as he crept around the back of his hut he heard raised voices of his parents. “You said he’d be going out to work with you guys this evening up on the mountain to get some more fuel for your ships?…” his mother’s voice was raised “I don’t understand where he ran off to. You know, he’s always exploring around the mountain…” his father was speaking in a calmer tone trying to ease his mother’s anger at her son now missing. He climbed up over the barrels behind his room which was on the loft floor. His feet slipped and he fell feeling sliding down the pile of trash that surrounded the barrels screaming out in pain he realized his mistake. Then a voice comes from inside the hut “Willie is that you back there?” His mother shouts. “You’re in a lot of trouble mister!” She rounded the corner only to find Williams clutching his leg looking down; she could see under the light of the moon that his leg was twisted in a strange direction. “Oh god you broke your leg.” She shouts to her husband “James get the medi pens…. All of them!” She turns back to her son “you sir are in some serious…..” Before she can continue her rant a massive explosion in the distance near the mountains illuminates the entire night sky as a thick mushroom cloud begins rising from the mountains. “Stupid pirates,” she says. His father approaches with an arm full of medi pens as they set to work trying to stabilize their son. Meanwhile high up in the mountains… She got up from the pilot's seat, stumbling as she has a small head wound, hasn't eaten in days, and hasn't had any water either.. She climbs out of the wreck, her legs barely working at the moment. Hekla falls to the ground and crawls a few more feet before passing out. Despite her overpowering will to live, she couldn't move, she was exhausted of food and water. What could she do, she was physically and mentally broken and scared. For once she was truly helpless, defenseless, and possibly hopeless. She finally accepted that this is her fate. That this was the night her story ended. She said her goodbyes to... well no one, as she had no one. She made one last attempt to move before her vision turned black, red, and blurry. But to no avail, she passed out after a solid hour of fighting her own body to get up and go.
