XenoThreat Lies: The Avian Flu Carrier Myth Heydan Seegil Independent Researcher New York, Earth Abstract While the Purlyfe system initially caused harm to spacefarers this was due to a flaw in design that targeted too many microbes for elimination and not due to an exchange of genetic material. As of late there has been an increasing amount of Xenophobic propaganda and false reporting in medicine which unfairly targets our alien neighbors with harassing stereotypes. One of these stereotypes which has gained traction in pseudo-scientific circles is that after a Tevarin passes through the Purlyfe system a small part of their genetic material is teleported out of their bodies, into the system, and later deposited in a Human causing them to become sick with the Avian Flu. In this paper this preposterous myth is debunked by examining how the Purlyfe system works and what the centuries old Avian Flu was to show that such ideologies are technically impossible. Although these institutions are unaffiliated with this study at the time of this publication the principal author is a biomedical technician for the United Earth Empire, has prior experience as an engineer and Purlyfe repair technician for BiotiCorp, and is without any former academic certificate. Introduction Racism has always sought to dredge up past propaganda, paint it a different color, and call it bleeding edge science. [1] However, upon closer inspection the stereotypical troupes of hate which fuel these ideologies just do not hold any merit. As Vanduul raids have forced an increasing number of Tevarin to pledge their lives to the UEE (United Earth Empire) in order to combat the ever-present threat of the swarm [2] [3] there have been both those who have welcomed them and those who have sought to other and disenfranchise them of their right to existence. [4] [5] The awful rumor that the Purlyfe system has somehow caused humans passing through it after a Tevarin does to contract the Avian Flu is an absurdity and clear misinformation. Methodology At least a basic understanding of the technology is required; however, the complete schematic of the most recent Purlyfe system and all various models was reviewed in order to show the technical impossibility of the claim this paper seeks to debunk. After creating an understanding of the technical limitations of the system an understanding of what the Avian Flu is needed to be addressed and so historical medical journals related to the subject were reviewed. In order to show that the Tevarin are not birds and therefore unable to be a vector for the Avian Flu their biological differences were examined. The Purlyfe System Figures 1-18 include the technical blueprints for the Purlyfe system. Even a layperson observer can see there is no genetic extraction technology incorporated into the design of the device. This is because the system was never intended to extract any genetic material. Instead, it was designed and is still used for the sole purpose of destroying harmful microbes to eliminate the need to quarantine pilots returning to port. [6] Figure 19 shows that if anything the Purlyfe system would inoculate travelers from the Avian Flu as is evident by the inclusion of it within the software database of viruses to scan for. It can safely be determined from the schematics of the Purlyfe system that it is technically impossible for it to extract genetic material and then insert it into another host. The Avian Flu The Avian or “Bird” Flu was a strain of the influenza A virus which caused a human pandemic resulting in the deaths of millions. [7] A century after being discovered the Avian Flu had been fully analyzed resulting in the near eradication of the virus. While the Avian Flu does still exist today it is not as communicable as it once was due to modern technology and only exists in very remote locations where humans are in constant direct contact with birds from Earth. One reason the Avian Flu is not nearly as communicable is due to the Purlyfe system which eliminates it as a standard part of the operation of the unit preventing it from escaping the planet Earth. If anything, the ability of the Avian Flu to transfer to another host would lay with us Humans as the Tevarin are not from Earth. It can safely be determined that the Avian Flu poses a negligible threat to humanity if one at all thanks to modern technology. Incompatibility With Tevarin Biology Having completely identified the genomes of the fauna of Earth (humans included) along with the genome of the Tevarin it is easy to declare this rumor or stereotype invalid. This is simply because the Tevarin are without (Eth820----Ser[N820S]) the homozygous genes which provide vectors for the virus to latch on to. Figures 20-24 indicate an attempt was made to try to forcibly reproduce the results of the propaganda being addressed by this paper by analyzing the cDNAs of the 1445G mutation, an exact exon 2 (bravo EX2) deletion, a deletion of 2 and the first 115 bp of exon 3 (bravo EX2-3), or completely normal sequences in 7,432 willing Tevarin test subjects. In all cases, even those who showed evidence of a possible mutation which could potentially – in the most extreme way – host the Avian Flu it was impossible to induce or create a host carrier. It can safely be determined that it is medically impossible for the Tevarin as a species to host the Avian Flu as they are not actually birds. Conclusion That fear of the Vanduul has rehashed old racist and xenophobic sentiment resulting in the harassment of the Tevarin. This has also resulted in making it harder for technicians to adequately care for the Purlyfe equipment due to it being targeted by fringe groups seeking to disable it. A clearer and better understanding of Tevarin biology as well as what the Purlyfe system is capable of would do well to persuade the general public away from such ready acceptance of what is clearly pseudo-scientific racism. Additionally, it is advised that a similar study be conducted to show there is no correlation between diseases and other alien species such as the one claiming the Xi’an are carries of Salmonella as the Xi’an are not actually turtles and again the Purlyfe system does not actually extract or inject any genetic material into those who pass through it.
