Perhaps I should just wait for the release of 3.23.2 (or whatever), but I feel this will apply either way.... Persistent hangers promise us the ability to call a ship on demand. We will be given the largest hanger we need, based on the ship we have (for now) We will be able to call a vehicle (i.e. rover), move it off the pad, then call another ship and load it (not yet, but soon enough). I have always felt this design was flawed. Obviously CIG has specifically address that we can not call multiple ships onto a single landing pad. While, I see no reason why not, lets assume some technical limitation a.t.m and give them that one. However, while spawning a small rover on a pad, driving it off to the side somewhere, and then spawning a ship to put it in would be doable...it is certainly a workaround. Also, would the same allow me to spawn an arrow, vanguard, or larger ship, and "fly it off to the side", and then place it into a larger ship? Is that really a desirable solution? Lets use a massive landing pad to illustrate what I might suggest.... "Massive landing pad" Each landing pad is subdivided into nested landing pads, such that the player can either: Call their "massive" ship, which would utilize the whole hanger or... call a "large" ship, which would use the "large" pad that is nested in their "massive" one, AND call a "medium" ship, which uses the "medium" pad nested within their "massive" one, AND call a URSA, which uses the "extra small" pad, nested within the same "massive" one. In short, in the space that is occupied by a massive ship, you could place a whole assortment of landing pads. These could be nested, such that every time someone calls a ship, it occupies space, and they can only call ships hence forth that can still be accommodated. This would not spawn multiple vehicles on a single pad, rather...it would give users multiple pads in a single hanger. As a side note/benefit, The "nested pads" could be oriented such that a ship always spawns as close as possible to the player, as the smaller the nested pads would be oriented closer to the players location. So, no more spawning a Pices in the middle of a hanger designed for the "largest ship", and then walking 2 minutes to get to it. If you wanted to get really fancy, you could have a built in transport system that moves the ship to the center when you request hanger doors open, such that: 1. Ship appears on landing pad right next to player(s) 2. Player(s) get in the ship 3. Request hanger door open 4. Hanger doors start to open, and.... 5. occupied ship/pad is moved to the enter of the hanger.
