THE 890 JUMP HAS NOW BEEN PUT ON THE ROADMAP AS BEING FLIGHT READY WITH GAME UPDATE 3.6.X (SUB-PATCH) IN Q2 2019! OFFICIAL SOURCES Original Sale Page: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14199-Interstellar-Splendor-The-890-JUMP Detail Page: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/890-jump/890-Jump Brochure: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/dzh8rlhcm9i1dr/source/890-Jump-Brochure-V8-Merged.pdf CONFIRMED FEATURES THE 890 JUMP WILL DEFINITELY HAVE [And my thoughts regarding those] Multiple Lower Decks: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/890-jump-all-the-infos-all-the-dev-posts/2180762 Hangar (top loading): either 2x Origin 85X or 1x Origin 300 series, or potentially some other ships of (very!) similar proportions -- [if possible, one sensible combination could be 1x Origin 85X + 1x Origin 135C for the cargo capacity.] Runabouts included: 2x Origin 85X will were PROMISED to be included in the 890 JUMP pledge and should appear in hangar as soon as the 890 JUMP becomes flight ready -- [Confirmed by Ben Lesnick a couple of years ago, yet ignored and revoked by John Crewe here on Spectrum, pending update.] Battle Bridge: which will sit somewhere "in the core" of the ship, and should be imagined like an armored panic room with a fully functional command chair and a sort of video camera setup to allow for the same view as from the regular bridge's windows -- [Very good news indeed, as this once more re-affirms that the 890 isn't just a safe space loot pinata, but a ship that is very much expected to see and survive battles regularly; otherwise, what would be the point of having a proper Battle Bridge in the first place?] Point Defense Turrets (PDTs): The 890 JUMP will regain the two lost hardpoints, coming with 2x Auto Turrets + AI Blades pre-installed that are not currently showing in her specs & stats -- [To me one of the best news that came out of the CitizenCon 2018 interview with John Crewe; these auto turrets will be part of the 890's factory default loadout and will very likely sit both ventral & dorsal aft to allow for maximum rear coverage when escape from incoming torpedos is necessary. The AI blades necessary for auto turret functionality are of unknown quality for now, but expect them to be not the best possible ones since CIG surely wants to leave room for upgrades even on a ship like the 890.] Capital Class Components: Confirmed as being accurate (as of CitizenCon 2018) are the current component specs, i.e. 2x Capital Shields, 2x Capital Power Plants, 2x Capital Coolers, 1x Capital Fuel Tank; remaining components will likely remain Large -- [Personally I do find the current armaments extremely lacking, especially given the fact that the 890 is now "just shy of 200 meters", i.e. massively bigger than she was before; for such a large ship, 6 turrets with at best Size 4 weapons seems both too few to provide full coverage, as well as too weak given the 890's own size and the size of ships she'll likely come into conflict with. While the 890 isn't meant to be a Destroyer, she should at the least have weapons both plenti- and powerful enough to pose a significant threat to ships much smaller than herself. She is a Capital Ship after all.] Guest Suites: 4 Suites, 2 each on the Atrium Deck and on the deck above that, and these can be expected to be done to a high finish with both sleeping accomodations as well as lounge areas, and all suites should also have en suites Recreational: a fairly large pool with gravity, a secluded grotto for intimate relaxation, as well as very likely a full Spa -- [Spa hasn't been asked after at CitCon '18, but is mentioned in official concept brief/brochure.] Medical: two rooms on the Engineering deck, one room can be fully quarantined -- [Makes perfect sense!] Armoury: currently a hallway with four individual weapon storage units left & right on the walls -- [Would have preferred an actual room, maybe even with a small shooting range, but oh well] CONFIRMED DEV STATEMENTS WITH FACTS AND INFOS ON THE 890 AND DEVELOPMENT PLANS Ben Lesnick provided us with an inofficial Q&A for the 890 JUMP in 2014, after the sale had concluded and the 890 had already grown from her initial 70 meters to then 123 meters: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/comment/3684233/#Comment_3684233 Ben Lesnick on Twitter confirming that the 890 JUMP will indeed come with 2x Origin 85X as standard, as long as her hangar can actually hold two (which is now confirmed, with the ship being almost 200 meters in length): https://twitter.com/banditloaf/status/799989981292818433 Ben Lesnick confirming on Twitter in 2016 that so far there have been no changes made to the 890's role, size or specs: https://twitter.com/banditloaf/status/801377884539482112 Ben Lesnick confirming in 2016 that no changes have been made to the plans for the 890 to be fully solo-pilotable: https://twitter.com/banditloaf/status/801068326357086208 Our own community member @Huniken spoke to Chris Roberts during a visit to Foundry 42 UK on the 8th of October 2015, where Chris told him that only Capital Ships like the Idris or Javelin would be able to sink an 890 in space: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/890-jump-all-the-infos-all-the-dev-posts/427160 Ben Lesnick saying in 2014 that the 890 were the closest thing to the original Idris and that all ships are priced based on their capabilities and components: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/comment/3512116/#Comment_3512116 (Thanks to Tyran_Scorpi & Waywarden from the 890 JUMP Owners' Discord!) Ben Lesnick saying in 2015 that the 890's passenger capacity will be greater than the Genesis Starliner's, which is 40 passengers max: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/268886/genesis-starliner-pricing/p1 (Thanks to Falk Schütze!) Ben Lesnick said on Bensday 81 that the 890 will be "more awesome than the sale page [suggests]", and that Foundry 42 would make her "bigger and fancier": https://youtu.be/nge5F6UJDuw?t=3m56s Kraiklyn said on the 29th of November 2017 that our feedback on the less than ideal ship shape segment had been heard and would be forwarded, and that the 890 would never be "let out of the shipyard as anything less than excellent" by Chris Roberts himself: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/our-voices-have-been-heard/59706 This statement is completely confirmed and vindicated (take that, doubters!) by the ship pipeline schematic, see further explanation in this post: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/890-jump-all-the-infos-all-the-dev-posts/901491 Kraiklyn also confirmed in that very chat session that the 890 is indeed a Capital Ship, source is the same as the one above. Amanda, the Concierge Support Team Lead, on the 29th of November 2017, has confirmed to our member @Scathalh via Concierge Ticket that the 890 will not have "hotel rooms" as her default loadout and that (so far) there are no changes to her original loadout: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/890-jump-all-the-infos-all-the-dev-posts/840510 Kraiklyn, in January 2018, has posted some clarification on how the different luxury ships are meant to set themselves apart from each other, from the Phoenix to the 600i and all the way up to the 890 JUMP, plus once more we've got confirmation that the 890 will indeed hold two 85X's in her "garage"/hangar: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/890-jump-all-the-infos-all-the-dev-posts/932484 John Crewe, out of Foundry 42 UK, has said on Calling all Devs on Monday, 10.09.18, that we would eventually be able to swap out groups of furniture for differently styled ones with the 890, so for example replace a set of chairs&table for another such set in a different style, to allow for different definitions of luxury furniture. John Crewe said quite a few things at the 2018 CitizenCon about the 890 JUMP: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/890-jump-all-the-infos-all-the-dev-posts/1542298 Chris Roberts mentioned in RtV All About Alpha 3.5 that CIG still fully intends to implement technology that would allow ships to land in and float on water, which is excellent news for the 890 JUMP! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXNGpg6ZfD0 Chris Roberts posted a lengthy explanation of how Quantum and Jump Drives are supposed to eventually work in Star Citizen, and I have summarized how this pertains to the 890 and what it might mean for this ship in particular: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/890-jump-all-the-infos-all-the-dev-posts/2065760 DEV-TRIVIA SECTION, WHAT DO OUR DEVS THINK ABOUT THE 890 JUMP? Sandi Gardiner herself said that the 890 JUMP is her favorite ship of the SC lineup -- this trivia bit is courtesy of @Bardas who kindly looked up a source to go along with the statement: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/65299/thread/the-high-end-890-don-t-need-more-guns-but/916717 IMAGES AND VIDEOS SHOWING THE 890 JUMP's INTERIOR & EXTERIOR Fleetyard has a very nice section on the 890 with easy to digest content: https://fleetyards.net/ships/890-jump/images?page=1
