an old veteran pilot that used to work for PTMC > Past Terrain Mining Company.. As a *freelance* mercenary. that stoped the incursion of the 499... the 499 was an experiment by PTMC which was a robot capable of mining out a whole asteroid in a matter of a day.. how ever. programmed to mine. the robot and its siblings turned on PTMC killing all who tried to override there prime directive to *rend* all things. both flesh and solid rock.. PTMC hired Material Defender to stop this menace.. with great success material defender stoped the in counter.. how ever at great risk to him self. during the explosion material defenders ship was badly damaged. and very neerly annihilated. drifting away into the sun.. PTMCs Mining vessel LV 5216 later discovered him drifting into the sun and rescued him 10 years after the explosion of 499.. how ever they did not save his ship.. they refitted him with a new one an sent him to Star citizen
