The first record of Conrad James Frost was that a contest, written out by Sphere Industries CEO Robert Voogt, had been won. This contest was about finding a solution to a problem, encountered by the Stellar Engine research team of Sphere Industries. Confidentiality contracts were drafted, and the problem nor the winning solution were made public. However, CEO Robert Voogt was impressed by the winner and his idea, and the winner was contracted soon after to work on the Stellar Engine project. He was presented to the press when he was promoted as the project's new leading research scientist and engineering overseer.

After the Stellar Engine project, he was promoted to the function of Research Executive Officer, leading the development of Sphere Industries newest technologies.
