Raphael Faulkner was born in London, Earth on 15 April 2909, to the wealthy couple Michael and Gabrielle Faulkner. During his early childhood he was taught to speak several languages—including the controversial Xi'An—and he showed to be of quick wit and relentless curiosity. After a traumatic event involving the disappearance of his mother, Raphael took to the streets, where he laid the foundations of what would eventually be the interplanetary weaponry and explosives manufacturer we know so well today.
