Saiki Atsumi wasn’t always a pirate. Born in the Stanton system, daughter of Area 18, she grew up watching megacorporations crush small entrepreneurs and dominate life. From a young age, she worked as a mechanic in a family workshop, repairing ships and transporting goods to survive. But when ArcCorp shut down the business for not meeting “corporate standards,” Saiki realized rules only benefited their creators.
Over time, she took fringe jobs: transporting prohibited goods, illegal ship modifications, and incursions into corporate zones. Her cunning and evasion skills earned her respect among independents, but drew major powers' attention.
Saiki is respected for her piloting and strategic skills, as well as her values. Though she resorts to violence when needed, she prioritizes just causes and jobs with significant rewards or benefits for the marginalized.
