After reading the article on how to develop strong writing skills from childhood, I began to think about how we, college students, could keep improving our writing skills. The piece talked about using creative outlets like creating a storybook or playing with words. This made me think about how immersive games could be used to improve my writing skills to do my assignments better.
I play Star Citizen all the time. It's an epic space simulation game where players can be traders, explorers, or mercenaries in a huge world that never ends. While it's fun to blast pirates, I've found that Star Citizen's changing task system and open-ended gameplay are also great for writing.
Just think about it: every time you start a new task, deliver cargo, or get into a fight with criminals, you're basically writing your own story. It could be good writing practice to write about those events, whether for a ship log, a faction transmission, or your own journal.
