Bio
Once hailed as one of the world's most exciting talents alongside Son Heung-min, Neymar now faces a challenging end to his career, with persistent injuries threatening his long-awaited return.
After a major setback last October with a torn ACL and meniscus, Neymar underwent surgery and spent nearly a year in rehabilitation. He finally rejoined the field recently, only to be sidelined once more due to a hamstring injury sustained just two games into his comeback. As Neymar nears his mid-30s, speculation has grown that he may have to retire earlier than anticipated.
Neymar’s latest injury occurred on November 5 (KST) during Al Hilal’s AFC Champions League Elite stage match against Esteghlal (Iran) at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was subbed in for Abdullah Al Hamdan in the 58th minute but left in the 87th minute, replaced by Mohammed Hamad Al Qahtani. Despite a planned gradual reintegration, Neymar managed less than 30 minutes on the pitch before his hamstring forced him out of the game.
