Talon Blackwood, with his wild mane of hair and a beard that could rival a wildcat's, knew Pyro like the back of his hand. Born in Stanton, he had been dragged to Pyro against his will when he was just a kid. Ten years in this harsh place, far from a barber’s touch, had shaped him into a survivor. He once had a crew, their laughter filling the cramped ship's corridor aboard his trusty Drake Cutter. Now, only the whispers of Pyro broke the silence left by their loss.

Talon had become a phantom, a ghost haunting the asteroid fields. He used his extensive knowledge of the area to stay one step ahead of other pirates and to dig up forgotten stockpiles. It wasn’t a proud life, but it kept him alive. Then, he found a data chip. It spoke of a hidden jump point, a possible way out. Maybe, just maybe, this was his chance to escape the past and carve out a new future, to escape Pyro once and for all.
