Sniper 1 reporting in, I'm in position.

If you’re looking for a well-rounded ship and still playing in the early to mid-game, the Corsair is at the top of the list. Here’s why.

With all the elevator problems lately, I feel it’s worth pointing out the Corsair’s unique elevator design. It features a side-closing door inside and an exterior door outside. Once inside, there are three total levers: Roof, Mess Hall, and Surface. These levers can be pulled during transition (unlike the Raft or C2), and the elevator will adjust to your destination in real time and best of all, you don't have to hold F to select a floor.

Roof access is one of its most unique features, possibly the only ship with it. The elevator can take you directly to the roof, where you can scout for hostiles, shoot enemies outside a bunker using the wings and humps as cover, or simply enjoy the view from the top of this beautiful ship.

The Corsair includes a mess hall for dining and relaxing, crew and captain’s quarters, a bathroom, and, to top it off, a flask for your co-pilot to fill up for you. I do not support space travel under the influence, but Drake Interplanetary apparently does.

The armory includes 6 rifle holsters, 9 pistol holsters, 2 large railgun holsters, several armor racks, and, in the same room, a docking collar. I usually use it to board the 890 Jump during that fun mission.

The cargo bay holds 72 SCU on-grid and over 100 off-grid, making the Corsair competitive with ships like the C1 Spirit, Zeus, and Constellation Taurus. The bay can also fit a Nursa, Storm, or other small vehicles.

The folding wings may concern some pilots since losing a wing means losing a weapon. While that is true, I have never had it happen in all my time flying the Corsair. They fold for landing and, in my opinion, look fantastic.

For firepower, the Corsair has 6 weapons not counting missiles: 4 size-4 M6As and 2 M7As. These cannons make the Corsair a deadly jouster, with most small craft destroyed in just a few shots. They are fixed weapons, so you will need to aim skillfully, but you can swap to Attritions if you prefer. Additionally, there are 2 working turrets for your friends to man, and combined with your own weapons, you can clear some very high bounties.

Bottom line: Vote for the Corsair! Rent it in Hurston's very own Lorville at Luxary Rentals, try it out! I still use it for hauling, bunkers, bounties, and as my daily driver, even after owning most of the other ships in the game. Let me know if I missed anything and why you love or hate the Corsair.
