Pride Month 2954

These are six Myondo blades, each made to have a colorful blade with all the colors of the rainbow. The knife design itself was directly taken from the game files and each knife was split into 5 different pieces: Blade, claw, handle/hilt, and two gems. They were also carefully measured in order to be close to the real life size of the Myondo knife in the game, when held by a person.

The blades were made of a 3d printing Silk PLA filament in a rainbow scheme, with the hilts being made of silver Silk PLA filament. The blades had to be printed in large amounts in order to ensure that the full rainbow appeared on each blade. If they were printed one at a time, they would have just been one color. They were also heat treated to remove errant hairs.

The gems on the pommel were made from 3d printing translucent resin with the 6 main colors of the rainbow. Most of the colors had to be made with a clear resin hand mixed with multiple dyes in order to get the appropriate colors, and two were then lightly hand painted and cleaned with acrylic paint to give them extra color. Can you guess which ones they are?

Right before final assembly, all handles were hand painted with gold gilding wax to give them the contrasting gold and silver color.

All in all, despite me being an amateur, I'm really proud of the six knives I've made. It took multiple tries and a decent amount of filament and resin to make these, but I am really happy with them, and am glad to submit it for this years contest.
