So I'm really not keen on this trend of open deck carriers that we're seeing with the Kraken and now the Liberator, I get why CIG are doing it because it's difficult to dock one ship inside another especially when it's moving, but Aircraft carriers in space is just really unimaginative and frankly feels wrong for an advanced sci fi universe. So I've had a little brainstorm and come up with an alternative docking system that uses rotating landing pads so that they have the ease of external landing pads but the practicality and coolness of internal hangars. So a few notes on the attached diagram.

Each hanger and landing pad would use it's own artificial gravity generator to orient itself to match the ships docked position and personal transferring between the different orientations of gravity in the hangars to the main deck of the ship would do so via a lift which would rotate to match it's new gravitational situation whilst in transit to and from the hangar. The Concept would also work pretty well as an Endeavor module, or a Hull D/E variant. If you're a fan of the Aircraft Carrier in space direction CIG are taking with the Kraken and now the Liberator, then don't get butt hurt people are allowed to like different things. Partially inspired by the secret Viper carrier in Battlestar Galactica. https://youtu.be/uZfU-jrT28w

Very impressive design. Simplistic and good use of the space available. Let's hope this gets the recognition it deserves.

Looks terrific. Didn’t realize the Liberator to be a Marine landing craft.
