What is the Daymar Rally?

The Daymar Rally is a 510km race across the unforgiving landscape of Crusader's moon Daymar. This race was inspired by the Dakar Rally held on Earth every year and is coming up on its 7th year on Daymar. Teams consisting of 4 members choose a division (Bike/Buggy/Truck) and with their support ship watching over them and guiding them attempt to make it to the finish line as quickly as possible. Once the race begins, the Daymar Rally earns its title of "The filthiest race in the 'verse" by being a weapons-free race, in which the teams on the ground can and do shoot at one another.

Who runs it?

The Daymar Rally, as well as other types of tournaments, are organized throughout the year by ATMO esports which is a completely 100% volunteer group that does not work for CIG and creates these emergent and dynamic experiences out of a love for the community in Star Citizen.

When does this all take place?

The Daymar Rally happens every year in the latter half of January, with the 2955 race happening on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 at 4 pm UTC. There are two practices left before the Daymar Rally itself. The next one is Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at 7 pm UTC, and the final practice is Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at 7 pm UTC.

What is in it for me and my team?

In every year past we have given a physical trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as jackets, jerseys, and in-game ships and vehicles totalling tens of thousands of dollars. On top of this, you also get the title and bragging rights that go with knowing you have conquered the Daymar Rally.

Yes! Here are a few important things that may help you make the decision to join in:

You only have until Sunday, December 15th at midnight UTC to sign up

The practices are laid back and will give you a bit of info on what to expect come race day

It is an amazing team-bonding experience

While the final team consists of 4 team members, you can put 6 on your roster so any of your 4 team members can be swapped out in case of sickness, etc

You can read last years rulebook here to get an idea of how things work (the rulebook will be updated as well as have an addendum once 4.0 come closer to being out)

And finally the BIG ONE...

Due to how many people get left in the sands of Daymar never seeing the finish line, this year we are allowing ALL teams to respawn back in their support ship and continue racing as long as they have spare vehicles!!! This announcement can be seen on the official ATMO esports discord server!
