Ship Showdown 2955
Past event
July 29 to August 12
I am now the last survivor of the incident on Cyrene in 2932 after attending the funeral of another survivor. What did I do to deserve to live this long. Better men than me deserved to live. Men with courage and honour. How any of us that day survived I can not explain. Was it luck? Fate? Who knows.
My trusty Gladiator got me through that day but she is old and tired as well. She has been neglected for many years now. The paint is badly faded, engines are tired (as am I), and part of the wing is barely held on anymore. I was lucky enough to get it flyable for todays funeral. I knew no one else would remember us as I approached. Everyone today only talks about the new shiny ships like the F8C but those ships wouldn't have been developed if it wasn't for my big ole girl here.
Me and my ship are all that remains now of a now dark past and once I am gone will anyone remember me, us, the Gladiator? Some said we were hero's, other's say disobedient misfits who should have been sent to the mines.
As I wait for death to take me to join the rest of my squadron all I can do is think to myself, was it worth it?
