The 400i, my go-to ship since 2951.

Whether I’m landing at Orison, GrimHex, or anywhere else in Stanton, my 400i will get me there.

Behold! My stuff.

The 400i is not a perfect ship. The first thing that comes to mind for me is that I’m not a fan of the turret placement. Especially the dorsal turret. It blocks the view looking aft from the dining room table. If they’re going to be remote turrets, can’t they at least be retractable? Also, it doesn’t have the greatest firing arcs. Origin is still working the kinks out of the 400i. Currently, the main entry buttons are projecting off the wall into the air. The lift will sometimes get overexcited and either launch you onto the roof or inject you into the planet. And like a lot of cargo lifts, there are times when a friend will be standing on it, hit the button to descend, then fall through it… often to their death on the planet below.

But for all its (minor, mostly cosmetic) faults, the Origin 400i is the one ship that I fly most often. Whether I’m landing at Orison, GrimHex, or anywhere else in Stanton, my 400i will get me there.

When the Origin 400i launched at IAE 2951, it was not my daily driver. I was mostly going between my Mercury and my Freelancer MIS. But over the next few months, the 400i grew on me. By Luminalia 2951, the 400i was my go-to ship for most missions. The X1 bay in the front can hold a Nox or be left open for cargo boxes. Regardless of what you’re carrying, or for whom. The grand staircase is a wonderful entry point, having an airlock right there makes EVA a breeze. You enter the ship and have an armoury for six guns and nine sidearms next to three suit lockers so you can kit out yourself and your crew in one go. The aft section houses four escape pods and a cargo lift big enough for an STV and some cargo or a Cyclone. Taking the lift to the upper deck, you arrive right next to the bridge. Heading aft, you have the shared crew shiolet, about four times larger than most ships, then the port-side captain’s quarters, complete with office, the starboard-side crews’ quarters, then the kitchenette with dining table, and finally the exploration table.
