Built around a pair of size 12 railguns, the Vesuvius is focused on attacking huge ships. These railguns are fixed, unlike the Bengal which has four of these on a turret. Additionally it has four anti-capital turrets with dual-size 10 guns, two anti-large ship turrets with quad size 7s, and four antifighter turrets with four size 4s. The range on the larger guns is considerable, so the Vesuvius is also used for bombarding surface targets from low orbit.
If a Javelin was compared to a large Hammerhead, this is a large Perseus. The Javelin has more smaller turrets that can intercept ships and torpedoes, and can operate comfortably alone. While the Vesuvius is powerful, its six smaller turrets can be overwhelmed by large groups of small ships, so it should be escorted by a Hammerhead, Redeemer, or fighters. The Vesuvius also lacks the huge torpedoes of the Javelin and uses a large number of much smaller size 5s and size 3s.
The Vesuvius has two bridges to serve as a flagship. The larger upper bridge is meant for the captain and crew to operate the ship. The lower bridge contains seats for an admiral or general coordinating a fleet or landing operation. Near the lower bridge are briefing rooms, offices, lifepods, and other facilities. The ship also has three hangars: An "extra extra small" top-rear hangar for a Pisces or Argo MPUV, an extra small front hangar for a fighter, and a smallish rear hangar for a Valkyrie or Redeemer.
I welcome feedback and may do a full brochure with a rough interior in the future.
