The Vermilion system (designated VS-11 by the United Empire of Earth (UEE)) is a Vanduul-controlled planetary system that shares no publicly-known jump points with any other systems. Included in UEE star charts as a part of Vanduul territory, all details on the system's makeup are classified. As a Triggerfish prank in SEY 2924, an anonymous jokester took out an ad in Mars Today advertising "...fresh, sweet Vermilion apples, created by the Vanduul of the Vermilion system and hand delivered right to your door." This led to a flurry of inquiries and stirred up such fervor on spectrum that the UEE had to issue a statement assuring the public that Vermilion apples originated on Earth (Sol III).
