Pike is the second planet from the sun in the Terra system, United Empire of Earth (UEE). While its proximity to the sun and the thinness of its atmosphere make it a hostile environment, the rich reserves of resources on the planet have made it host to thousands of mining operations and refineries. While many outposts are built underground or in sealed arcologies to protect workers, processes are typically automated when possible in order to minimize Human exposure to the elements.
