The Genesis belt alpha is an asteroid belt in the developing Genesis system. Located between the second and third planets from its sun, its proximity to the Fair Chance Act-protected world Genesis II has made it off limits from potential industrial development. However, some of the larger asteroids have deposits of ice that are mined under strict government supervision as water supplies for many of the observation stations that orbit Genesis II.
