Some speculate Illuminati began sometime within the late 28th or early 29th century with the fall of the strip mining conglomerate Hathor Group in 2864.

However its tentative origin was a more mundane affair as a group of miners exhausted of seeing mega corporations strip mining all life and terraforming planets found a vulnerability within the now Nexus System as seen on Lago (Nexus IV) between 2468 taking advantage of the Anti-Messer Revolution (2792) until the final nail in the coffin coming in the form of the Fair Chance Act enacted in 2795.

With the limelight firmly being on the newly elected Erin Toi (First Imperator of the UEE) , Miners back in Nexus needed a way to utilize the freighters, mining platforms and Ore refineries to not starve while the newly formed UEE was establishing itself. A number of Solutions were postulated, attempted and ultimately failed due to either in-fighting, greed, abusive power struggles or age old feuds between families. These very same people would come to understand its easier to break something than to build it.

As chaos reigned, an organic structure began to form which led to stretches of prosperity these small groups dedicated to specific goals, capable to adapt and overcome obstacles in real time in a changing landscape would become the bedrock of The Enlightened.

As these groups continued a free for all under seemingly never ending aggression's over dwindling resources. A subsect group of mining families wished for an existence for future generations to never know starvation again... and thus took what resources they could in form of an Asteroid Miner, Science Station and two mobile Markets for broader horizons. They would come to consider themselves as the fading light into the great abyss.

While under the great flotilla migration, numerous attacks, system malfunctions, maintenance repairs took its toll on young and old alike. It wasn't till the end of Erin Tol's tenure while the flotilla broke down in the Baker System and monitoring Spectrum did news of an Ark being created in the nearby Tayac System was made known. (2794 -2800).

Surely if they could only get to this promise land after so long. A neutral archive of knowledge to better all civilizations what better a place for people who have only ever known strife and starvation then shunned it perpetuity.
