History
Stoneman/ Black was founded in 2545 by Omar Thomas, Don Mathews and Pat Joseph.
The three founders created the syndicate to stand in opposition to the Messer Era ideals of the Prime Citizen. From the very onset by creating an organization with a decentralized command, they stood for freedom of speech, freedom of information and freedom from the propaganda that plagued the universe.
In Ray Bradbury’s ancient novel, “Fahrenheit 451” two characters: Stoneman and his associate Black were book-burners; government patsies who blocked citizens’ access to free information by destroying source material in a mass censorship campaign. The ironic namesake of this organization stands as a constant reminder of what governmental oppression could some day become if not for front-line information war fighters like ours.
