Basically, we like crime.
We smuggled memes. Are you hard like that?
We at TLS believe that player interaction and casual roleplay in Star Citizen can lead to some of the most satisfying and memorable moments, along with a deep-seated conviction that UEE laws are more like rough guidelines rather than a complete authoritarian framework. Aware that many a benevolent citizen was unjustly exposed to the harsh realities of the ‘criminal status’ within the Stanton system, we turn a ‘target’ into a ‘client’.
With this in mind, TLS strives to become a mature community of individuals or groups, illicit as they may be, that will aim to provide services to other players, including but not limited to:
- Totally Innocent Prisoner Retrieval;
- Assembling crews;
- Arms trading;
- QOC handling (Questionable Origin Cargo or smuggling in a traditional sense);
- Personal or fleet security;
- Medical services;
- Piracy;
Think of this Syndicate as the ‘Dork Web’ of SC, or ‘The Milk Road 3.0’ perhaps? Simply a place for service providers and clients to find each other and form mutually beneficial partnerships away from the prying eyes of global channels.
Making money through roleplay. Basically, crime.
1. We expect all members, Clients and Service Providers alike, to follow Star Citizens EULA and Terms of Service.
2. Under no circumstance will any form of Discrimination or Bullying be allowed within this server. This is and always will be a mature and friendly environment for people to interact, conduct in-game business in a lore and roleplay friendly way, as well as make new friends. We will not tolerate any form of toxic behavior towards any member. Any and all complaints will be dealt with in a swift and decisive manner.
3. Due to the nature of in-game criminal behavior and how it is currently handled, some criminals such as Smugglers, Arms Traders, etc. will not be identified as criminal/hostile in the verse, whereas anyone with a Crime Stat (CS) will be identified as hostile. It is your responsibility to know who you are dealing with. E.g. shooting at the person you paid to help you just because they’re red/hostile in-game. Such actions would be redundant, and by interacting with this server you agree and accept the fact that you are dealing with in-game criminals who will trigger established mechanics of the game for dealing with such targets, i.e. hostile security forces or possible appearance of player bounty hunters.
4. Star Citizen is in Alpha, with more than a few bugs. As such, there will be times where the game might misbehave (30k’s, random ship explosion, boomerang grenade to list a few). Certainly an annoyance, but it cannot be helped on our end. By being a part of this community you accept that a random bug may temporarily halt your fun, with an exponential risk of such an occurrence in multi-crew environments. Frustration included.
5. You are dealing with real people! Although we encourage roleplay (be it casual or on the heavier side), unnecessarily misusing or placing higher expectations on an individual is considered bad conduct. Let’s say you hired a crew member for that extra thicc S5 turret. Wouldn’t exactly be right expecting them to clear a bunker, yes? Any extra services should be agreed upon by both parties and covered by an appropriate amount of aUEC, through already established protocols.
6. Roleplay is not a hard requirement for joining and participating in the majority of aspects our community intends to offer, however, we do ask that you respect other people trying to have fun in such a way. Outlining it with an example: ‘Perhaps your CS (crime status) is level 5, and you’d like it cleared so as to regain UEE freedom. As a solo or a smaller group, the risk is great – full Klescher mining experience is a single mistake away. Full escort will be on its way as soon as your request and transaction are processed.’ Given that a voice comms are not a requirement, there is no reason for a Client to impede the RP experience of the Provider. Simple enough. Infringements of respectful roleplay will not be tolerated under the general guidelines of the Syndicate.
7. You accept that all payments are done on a 50/50 agreement, as in 50% upfront and 50% upon job completion. As there are no in-game mechanics for dealing with a neglected payment, the Syndicate offers insurance on up to 69% of the transaction value. However, neglected payments will lead to temporary blacklisting – aUEC is somewhat of an important factor, no? We understand that sometimes bugs can occur and life simply happens, therefore some leniency is shown – case by case basis; whereas there is none for the repeat offender who will have his permissions revoked and the individual himself removed from the Syndicate.
