History

AetherCommerce Corporation
Founded in 2849, the Centauri-based AetherCommerce Corporation was for over half a century one of the galaxy’s most well-known traders’ organizations; ACC earned huge profits by trading goods and mainly exporting products from the Centauri system. The president of the corporation, Keyzuo Sai’ku, decided to invest in the export of exotic wildlife from Centauri, specifically Saisei, in 2903. As expected, net profits grew dramatically for a short while. Approximately a decade after starting to export these plants and animals, however, ACC was in worse shape than it had ever been. Its few years of financial success following the addition of trading animals were short-lived. A new and rising company, TruStone, had made false claims in 2907 that ACC executives were illegally exporting endangered Centauri-native animals off-planet; TruStone went as far as to plant false evidence among shipping reports. Multiple lawsuits followed, and AetherCommerce was in danger of losing nearly all of its business partners; any company seen doing business with ACC was publicly scorned by Centauri-based nature conservation groups, who believed AetherCommerce to be operating illegally. By the year 2913, Sai’ku was preparing to dissolve completely his once hugely successful company, all because of false claims by an opposing company.

Centauri Elite Corps
During this period, in 2909, brilliant entrepreneur and ex-militant Jach Breslo started a private military company, the Centauri Elite Corps. The CEC was essentially a guild of fighters that had seen better days and who were willing to perform tasks for significant sums of money; these jobs included providing escorts for cargo convoys and the like. While his business could have been hugely successful, Breslo was known for his rude and externally violent manner. Many other leaders in business were shocked by his outward appearance, refusing to communicate professionally, and the CEC was near termination in 2913. Realizing his career was going down the drain, Breslo contacted Keyzuo Sai’ku to discuss a partnership for both failing companies.

AetherCorps Elites
The manpower that Sai’ku acquired by merging the two companies turned out to be a valuable asset that helped him stay in business. The newly christened AetherCorps Elites opened a separate military division in 2914, headed by Jach Breslo. This branch of the company functioned much the same as the Centauri Elite Corps had originally, with the exception that Keyzuo Sai’ku oversaw its activities. The extra level of security provided by Breslo’s soldiers helped ACE protect its claims among interplanetary trade and prevent against more attacks such as TruStone’s. After Sai’ku’s death due to health complications in 2917, the position of CEO of ACE came to rest with Tenuko Masuburi, another Centauri-born businessman. Masuburi brought about a number of positive changes for his company, most significantly the incorporation of ranks used by the United Earth Empire to designate his pilots among themselves and various government officials. Another notable addition was his establishment of a board of executives, known as Chancellors (purely a decorative title), which decided as a whole on any company decisions. This board, made up of anywhere between three and five officials at any given time, was joined by Masuburi himself and formally replaced his leadership position.

Now
Since Tenuko Masuburi’s contribution to AetherCorps Elites, nothing has been the same about our organization, and flaws are always being worked out with improvements being made. With our board of Chancellors rotating members out every few years, ACE has maintained a balanced and stable leadership to date; upgrades to our infrastructure are always in progress. As we say here at ACE, embrace the future.

Above all, ACE is a way to make a name and career for yourself in the ‘verse, and the most important thing is to have fun doing it!
