Ode To Carrack

I flew in the morning when the ‘Verse was begun
I flew around the Moon and the stars and the Sun
I flew down from Heaven just to land on Terra
On a world called Earth I had my birth:

I am the Lord of the ‘Verse, said He!
And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I’ll lead you all in the ‘Verse, said He!

I flew for the Earth and the UEE
But they would not fly and they wouldn’t follow me
I flew for science like a bright photon
They came with me and the flight went on:

I am the Lord of the ‘Verse, said He!

And I’ll lead you all in the ‘Verse, said He!

I flew on the Sabbath and explored all the game
The pew pew lovers said it was a shame!
They blasted, lambasted – I crashed from the sky
And they left me there on a moon to die!

I flew on a Friday when the skies turned black
It’s hard to fly with a black hole on your back!
They wrote off my hull and they thought I was gone
But I am the ‘Verse, and the flight goes on!

They fixed up my hull and I flew up high
I am the ship that will never, never die!
I’ll keep you safe if you’ll live in Me
I am the Lord of the ‘Verse, said He!
