History of Arklay Strategic Division
Founded in 2956 as a direct response to Vanduul aggression and the catastrophic losses humanity suffered in Orion, Virgil, Caliban, and most recently Vega II.

The Vanduul first struck humanity in 2681, launching violent raids that escalated into full‑system annihilations. Orion fell in 2712, its worlds bombarded and harvested by a Kingship-led clan. Virgil was devastated soon after, its thriving biosphere reduced to ash as Vanduul forces slaughtered both military personnel and civilians. Caliban followed, collapsing under relentless raids that pushed the UEE frontier back and shattered early expansion efforts.

For decades, these losses were treated as isolated tragedies — until 5 October 2945, when a massive Vanduul clan attacked Vega II (Aremis). The assault killed thousands and forced the UEE Senate to formally declare war on 11 November 2945, acknowledging that humanity faced an existential threat.

In the aftermath of Vega II, frontier leaders, veterans, and advocacy specialists recognized that traditional UEE response structures were too slow and too bureaucratic to protect vulnerable systems. Arklay Strategic Division was established in 2956 as a dedicated interdiction and rapid‑response force — built to detect Vanduul movements early, reinforce frontier settlements without Senate delay, and ensure that no system ever suffers the fate of Orion, Virgil, Caliban, or Vega again.

Arklay Strategic Division is hereby charged with holding the line, defending the frontier, and safeguarding the future of humanity.
