History

The Fall of Atlas

In 2552 James Atlas was employed at Pyrotechnic Amalgamated as an Engineer stationed in the Pyro II Main Facility. Upon the company’s bankruptcy in 2563, Atlas was stranded in Pyro, eking out a living running leftover cargo between what remained of the system’s infrastructure. As Atlas watched the system descend from an industrial powerhouse to a lawless waste, he learned how the now primarily outlaw-controlled system operated.
In the Sol System, Atlas’ home, his wife Caroline would not simply accept the loss of her love, and so she purchased a ship and resolved to rescue her husband on her own, sending messages at regular intervals during her voyage to let him know she was on her way. Unfortunately for her, James’ efforts in the lawless Pyro system had earned him the demand of the various gangs who had filled the power vacuum after the company’s dissolution, and their reaction after intercepting one of Caroline’s messages was swift and brutal. Not moments after she arrived from the jump point to rescue her husband, her ship was destroyed by gang ships, waiting for her arrival.
News of his wife’s demise did not reach Atlas quickly, in fact, the various gangs of Pyro did their best to keep him in the dark, but when he discovered the wreckage of Caroline’s ship, along with her logged transmissions. James swore off his work with the gangs, knowing himself to be too small of a force to actually take them on, and with his earnings he chartered a discreet exit to Stanton, where he struggled to find work as substantive as the cargo work he’d done in Pyro. Luckily for James Atlas, at his darkest moment, an opportunity presented itself…

The Rise of Delta

Leonard Rivers started his career as a cargo rat, working odd jobs on whichever hauler ships he could get on in return for a barely living wage, but after a run-in with pirates which nearly cost him his life, Leo joined the UEE Navy, both for the benefits and to provide security from the pirates who had nearly killed him. During his 10 years in the Navy, Leonard was instilled with discipline, and he earned the nickname “Delta” for his unmatched speed in aerial and 0-g combat. But after his service in the Navy concluded, Leo wanted to put the skills he’d picked up to use, and so he founded the Navy Delta, a private military contractor with emphasis on space combat.
It was Leonard’s Navy Delta which drew the attention of a washed-up James Atlas, who joined the budding PMC with ambitions to someday stick it back to the Gangs of Pyro, but as time wore on, James logistical as well as piloting skills secured him a powerful position. As the PMC grew, so too did James influence within it, eventually elevating him to a similar level as Leonard. From this position, James suggested the PMC branch out into general work such as logistics and cargo. And though he was initially apprehensive about the idea, Delta eventually sided with Atlas, and the Navy Delta PMC was reborn into the Atlas-Delta Interstellar Organization.

The Atlas Delta Interstellar Organization

In 2576, the newly formed Atlas-Delta Interstellar Organization (ADI) set forth with a new mission statement, to provide stability to its client systems as James Atlas’ namesake steadied the world on his shoulders. This stability came in many forms, be that Mining, Salvage, Security, or Military Might, for their clients, they promised it all.
As the two founders grew old, they passed their company on to spiritual successors so it would not die with them, these successors now follow in the footsteps of the company’s founders, to lead Atlas-Delta Interstellar to a bright future while carrying its client systems on its shoulders…

Manifesto

The competition of space is an ever present hurdle, a competition that cannot be faced alone. As much as we wish to look forward to the stars, we cannot forget to look to our friends and teammates who have helped us lay the path to them. When all hope is lost aboard a dying ship, we look not towards the enemy in hatred or fear, but to those who fight alongside us; our teammates who will have our backs against all odds, our friends in whom we have placed our trust, our family forged through unbreakable bonds of adversity amongst the stars.

Together, we carry one another like the world on our backs. – Atlas Delta Interstellar
