History

Who’s asking? We’re just a group of explorers and traders who sell to the highest bidder, whom ever that might be. A tight knit network that deals with exotic weapons, shields, minerals, you name it; we sell to bounty hunters, militias, as well as mercenaries, pirates, and para-military groups. This collective is your way into the business, see a lot of money along with a little action. Become a King (or Queen).

A Look Back
An old syndicate, The Pirate Kings have been dealing to the world’s most prolific organizations since back when humanity was stuck on that little rock called Earth. Then known as a cartel, it rose to power when humanity first made it to space. Those days are long gone, and the name is just that now – a name. The original Pirate Kings followed in the steps of Atomsk, the first true pirate king: A being who started a hidden Empire of aliens trading across the Milky Way in the middle of the 21st Century. Even today people are still unsure of his origins out in space, let alone his race and whereabouts.

The Kings Today
We are mainly explorers, choosing to discover new resources rather than fight. We pride ourselves on being a network of like minded traders and explorers who often party up when time allows. As we explore and return to systems, our people have been found on occasion to be carrying outlawed cargo; which truthfully can happen to anyone moving from system to system. Though we skirt the law from time to time, officially we are are not pirates. This crew is a hard working one that focuses on the import/export side of things; some choosing to work in resourcing and supply, while others choose research and development. Our goal is to have a well rounded roster which features those who work on both ends of the production line.

Goals
  1. Network- First we will try to find suppliers for the things most in demand and function as a freelancing organization. This will take place at the heart of civilization, while others go on exploring as is our mission statement. After we have reliable work for all members, in secure systems as well as those on the edge of space, we will shift our focus to production.
  2. Produce- At this stage we should be established in the trade/freelancing sector of the economy. Now we will begin to produce our own goods. This could including making mining bases in unsecure space, or simply working hand in hand with engineering or resource focused Orgs to secure the goods we need to trade. We don’t have to be a big group, we just need to be focused and to work well with our trade partners.
  3. Establish- After we have chosen our goods, and are getting reliable work as traders we can begin to branch out. Here we begin to work on other focuses or even fund other projects. There are already plans for a black-market weapons trading side to the business so now we will begin to venture even further, adding scope to our direction.

A Brief History of the Code of Haratu

Rules of Engagement: If you destroy a 2 man cell, that is yours to take lol. If you destroy a 3 man cell, we will remember you. If you destroy a 4 man cell, well I can’t blame you there, they should have known better :).

We are not pirates, so try not to rob people, that is counter-productive to our cause. Enforcers are the only ones allowed to try.. You can try, but otherwise we won’t come help you out. Mercenaries are supposed to fight on foot, so try to avoid space combat if you are one – we need ya alive :). And Captains, well they are just supposed to wing it lol – that’s the most you can ask for in the black of space.

As far as our trade policies, there is a clincher. Chiefs can request for 25% off of goods from fellow crew members, but it is not your responsibility to agree. Captains can ask for 15%, and Enforcers 10%.. Mercs, you gotta depend on the crew outposts, so keep them well protected.

As a Captain, you must mark your man – who ever’s causing the most trouble. Don’t move without notifying your Lt., you could be risking your life. So just hang back and see how the team dos ha Boss? ;)

Service taxes will be collected and used as a pool for people of that respective rank or role – an example being if you are a boss, 5% of your income should go to the crew treasury, and it should be collectively spent on what all the bosses agree upon; possibly using the money on something like weapons for their teams. This will help to keep the King’s structure decentralized.

Every member that joins still has to fulfill the crew buy in, or promise, of 3 jobs dedicated to the Kings without pay; no matter what rank they join – you can choose not to, but if you get in trouble out there, we won’t come to save you. Every recruit job you do beyond your original 3 are tallied and can be used to display crew loyalty and as a bragging right. All money from those jobs will be used to supply crew members with new ships and equipment – ensuring more recruits.

Mercenaries will have access to borrow company ships for escort jobs, while all Enforcers and above must own a small transport as well as another well armed fighter. This will hopefully keep a sizable amount of small transport and escort ships in our network.

Finally our biggest strength is going to be that we defend our own – if another member gets attacked it is your duty to help defend them if you’re around, in both hi-sec and low-sec space.

Roles Explained

Bosses prioritize maximizing profits for their teams, and are expected to run missions on a regular basis. They are the proxy to a group or team of members, thinking and voting with their team mates in mind; a group may have more than one Boss.

Admirals are tasked with managing the organization’s reputation and perceived identity. These include worrying about both the abstract questions like what is membership, as well as deciding into what sectors the organization should grow.

Recruiters are simply members who spread the word, and help our little collective grow.

Marketing & Trade are tasked with all things commerce.

Extended Charter

Nothing is set in stone, and for the most part there won’t be many rules – what I envision is a group of privateers and mercenaries with the hearts and minds of pirates. We are out to have as much fun as possible, but also earn a credit or two in the process. Different people will gravitate to different things, and we will try our best to cater to each character – if you like action there will be plenty of dangerous jobs to take. If you just want to stay in secure space, but want access to the greyer, grittier sides of life, there will be a place for you too.
Unless we actively work to grow toward it, we probably won’t need a top down chain of command, and even then we would probably externalize them and make them into a branch of our Flag or Alliance – Royal Flush. If all the cogs move and everything works, The Bosses will be running daily operations for members to join, and the Admirals will be gambling, socializing, and recruiting. Chiefs will be planning galactic conquest, and the Captains will be busy running their own operations. Marketing and Trade will be connecting people and jobs together, and Enforcers will be ensuring our presence in the verse doesn’t go un-noticed.
