AVOG is a veteran-led community for ADF members and like minded individuals who play Star Citizen. We provide a safe space for connection and camaraderie through gaming. While we operate along side a non-profit mission, our focus is on the gameplay experience and mateship. Join us and fly today!

History

Our Origins

Australian Veterans Order of Gamers Ltd was founded in 2023 by a group of ADF veterans and supporters who shared a passion for gaming and recognised the need for a structured, supportive community.

What began as small, informal gatherings of veterans connecting through games like Star Citizen quickly evolved into something more meaningful. Members found not only enjoyment in gaming, but a renewed sense of camaraderie, shared identity, and peer support.

As the community grew, the need for a more formal structure became clear. AVOG was established as a not‑for‑profit organisation to ensure:

sustainability,
accountability, and
alignment with its purpose of supporting veterans.
Since its formation, AVOG has continued to expand, bringing together veterans from across all branches of the ADF, along with supporters who share in its values and mission.

Today

Today, Australian Veterans Order of Gamers Ltd is a growing and evolving community focused on:

fostering connection and belonging among veterans;
providing a safe and inclusive environment;
supporting wellbeing through shared experience and engagement; and
maintaining a strong sense of camaraderie grounded in service values.
Guided by its Constitution, Charter, and community principles, AVOG continues to develop as a place where veterans can reconnect, support one another, and stand together beyond service.

Manifesto

AVOG Manifesto

We are the Australian Veterans Order of Gamers.

We are those who have served, those who stood beside them, and those who continue to carry that experience forward.
Service never truly ends — it changes form. And here, we stand together again.

We exist to honour that service — not just in memory, but in action — through camaraderie, support, and the bonds we forge in this community.

We believe in community.
No veteran should stand alone. Here, we form up again — not by rank, not by trade, but by shared experience. A space where every member is welcomed, recognised, and valued.

We believe in support.
Behind every screen is a person who has carried weight others may never see. This is a place to reconnect, to breathe, and to find strength in others who understand. We look after our own.

We believe in respect.
For service given, sacrifices made, and for each individual who walks through this space. Regardless of background, perspective, or skill — every member is treated with dignity.

We believe in shared strength.
That resilience is not built alone. That teamwork, laughter, and even the smallest moments of connection can rebuild what service and time may have worn down.

We believe in purpose beyond service.
The uniform may come off, but the values remain. We carry them forward — into how we support one another, how we build this community, and how we give back where we can.

This is more than a gaming group.
This is a rally point.

A place to reconnect with the sense of belonging that doesn’t disappear — it just needs a place to live again.

As members of AVOG, we commit to:

standing by one another;
strengthening the community we’ve built;
upholding these principles in all we do;
and ensuring no member is left behind.
We carry forward the spirit of service — together.

This is who we are.
This is what we stand for.
This is AVOG
