History

Motto: “Silent. Lethal. Loyal.”

Origins

Barracuda traces its origins to a disciplined operational unit serving within a much larger organisation. Operating throughout Stanton and along the increasingly dangerous routes towards Pyro, the unit earned a reputation for careful planning, decisive action and its ability to adapt when operations refused to go according to plan.

Its crews undertook everything from fleet security and planetside assaults to industrial expeditions and high-risk recovery work. Over time, the name Barracuda became associated with a particular way of operating: coordinated, capable and always ready to strike when an opportunity presented itself.

Establishment

What began as a small operational unit gradually developed into something far greater. Each successful deployment attracted new pilots, soldiers, industrial crews and specialists who shared the same commitment to teamwork, adaptability and getting the job done.

As its membership and capabilities expanded, Barracuda evolved into a fully established organisation with its own command structure, operational divisions and specialist departments. No longer defined by its origins, it became a unified force capable of planning, supplying and executing complex operations across the Verse.

Its members come from different backgrounds and pursue different professions, but they operate beneath one banner with a common purpose: to advance the organisation’s interests, overcome any opposition and ensure that every hunt ends in Barracuda’s favour.

Doctrine

Barracuda was built upon three guiding principles:

  • Capability over reputation
  • Coordination over chaos
  • The organisation above the individual

Barracuda does not restrict itself to a single profession or rigid method of operation. Every deployment is approached according to its objective, with personnel and assets assigned wherever they can have the greatest effect.

The organisation is equally prepared to defend an industrial expedition, secure a contested facility, deploy a combined-arms strike force or pursue opportunities beyond the reach of conventional authority.

Operational Divisions

As Barracuda expanded, its combat and operational forces were reorganised into dedicated divisions. Each has its own specialisation, but none operates in isolation.

  • Barracuda Fleet – Serves as the organisation’s principal spaceborne force, deploying multicrew vessels, combat ships, transports and support craft across the Verse.
  • Strike Wing – Brings together Barracuda’s dedicated fighter pilots, specialising in interception, escort duties and coordinated air superiority.
  • Coastal Company – Commands planetside deployments, combining infantry, armoured vehicles and supporting aircraft to seize, secure and defend ground objectives.
  • Blackfin Syndicate – Beyond these primary divisions, the Blackfin Syndicate undertakes operations requiring a less conventional approach. Interdiction, boarding and cargo acquisition are among its preferred methods—particularly when valuable opportunities arise beyond the protection of local authorities.

A Self-Sufficient Force

Barracuda’s strength does not come from its combat divisions alone. Behind every deployment is an industrial and logistical network designed to make the organisation increasingly self-sufficient.

  • Apex Mining Co. – Locates and extracts valuable materials from asteroids, planetary surfaces and other resource-rich environments.
  • Supply Shoal – Transports those materials alongside cargo, equipment and vehicles, ensuring that resources reach the crews and locations where they are needed.
  • Bluewater Bureau – manages trade, exchanges surplus goods and sources anything the organisation cannot obtain through its own operations.

Resources are shared across Barracuda rather than remaining confined to the division that acquired them. Materials recovered through mining, salvage, trade, contracts and less conventional activities are pooled for the benefit of the organisation.

These resources are used to produce and acquire weaponry, armour and ship components, fulfil specialised contracts and work towards valuable rewards—including Wikelo vessels. The result is a continuous operational chain in which every division contributes: resources are gathered, transported, traded, converted into equipment and ultimately returned to the field.

Barracuda does not simply deploy a fighting force. It builds and sustains one.

The Hunt Continues

Today, Barracuda operates throughout Stanton and wherever opportunity leads beyond it. Its deployments range from industrial expeditions and logistics convoys to fighter engagements, contested-zone assaults, combined-arms warfare and coordinated piracy.

Specialisation gives the organisation structure, but cooperation gives it strength. Fleet crews, fighter pilots, ground forces, miners, traders, haulers and specialists all contribute to the same wider objective.

Barracuda has grown beyond the unit from which it originated. It is now an established, independent organisation with the people, assets and experience to pursue its own ambitions across the Verse.

Its emblem is more than a banner. It is a warning that the hunt has already begun.

Manifesto

Barracuda Manifesto

We are Barracuda—an independent, self-sufficient Private Military Company operating across the military, industrial and unconventional sectors of the Verse.

We are not defined by a single profession. We are fleet crews, fighter pilots, ground forces, miners, haulers, traders and specialists working towards the same objectives. Every role has value, and every successful operation is built upon the combined efforts of the organisation.

We believe structure should make us more effective without taking the enjoyment out of the game. Our divisions provide organisation, direction and opportunities to specialise—but they are not walls. Members remain free to develop new skills, support other teams and take the role the operation requires.

Our Principles

  • Silent — We move with intention, gathering information before unleashing force.
  • Lethal — When action is required, we strike with accuracy and overwhelming effectiveness.
  • Loyal — We stand by our own. We complete our contracts. We honour our commitments.

One Organisation

Barracuda Fleet, Strike Wing and Coastal Company form the organisation’s primary operational force. Alongside them, the Blackfin Syndicate conducts piracy, interdiction and other operations beyond conventional boundaries.

These divisions do not compete for relevance. They support one another. Space superiority protects ground deployments, ground forces secure objectives, and fleet assets provide the transport and firepower required to hold them.

Behind every deployment stand the departments that sustain it.

Apex Mining Co. gathers valuable resources. Supply Shoal moves materials, equipment and vehicles where they are needed. Bluewater Bureau manages trade, sources missing supplies and turns surplus stock into new opportunities.

Everything feeds back into the organisation.

Resources earned through mining, salvage, trade, contracts and piracy are shared to help produce and acquire weaponry, armour and ship components, fulfil specialist requirements and secure valuable rewards—including Wikelo equipment and vessels.

We gather what we need.
We move what we gather.
We equip those who fight.
We share in what we earn.

That is how Barracuda remains self-sufficient.

Our Commitment

Barracuda is organised, but it is not burdened by unnecessary military role-play. Leadership exists to provide direction, create opportunities and give every member a place within the wider force.

We welcome experienced Citizens and newer players alike, provided they are willing to contribute, improve and work alongside the crew. Knowledge should be shared, effort should be recognised and no member should be treated as merely another number.

We do not seek conflict without purpose, but neither do we retreat from it. When our members, resources or objectives are threatened, Barracuda responds together.

We prepare together.
We deploy together.
We succeed together.

We are Barracuda.

Built for the Hunt.

Charter

Barracuda Charter

This Charter provides an overview of Barracuda’s rank structure and role-intent system.

Ranks

Barracuda’s roster ranks represent a member’s standing and experience within the organisation.

  • Admiral of the Fleet (Lead) — The overall leader responsible for the organisation, its direction and major decisions.
  • Vice Admiral (Co-lead) — Works alongside the Admiral of the Fleet to manage and direct the organisation, acting in their place when required.
  • Commodore (Officer) — Responsible for overseeing and supporting the organisation as a whole. Commodores help coordinate operations, manage different areas of the organisation and provide guidance to the ranks below them.
  • Captain — A trusted and experienced member willing to take on additional responsibility, such as leading a division, operation, group or specific task.
  • Midshipman — A member beginning to take on leadership responsibilities. Midshipmen assist more experienced leaders while gaining the experience and trust required to progress into a full leadership role.
  • Warrant Officer — A highly trusted and experienced member recognised for their knowledge and reliability. Warrant Officers often provide guidance, support leadership and take responsibility within their areas of expertise.
  • Petty Officer — A trusted member who is active, reliable and consistently contributes to the organisation and its operations.
  • Able Rate (Member) — A full member who has attended operations, become familiar with the organisation and demonstrated that they are a good fit.
  • Cadet (Trial) — The starting point for new members. This period is used to determine activity, reliability and whether they are a good fit for the organisation.

Division leadership and operational responsibilities are appointments rather than automatic benefits of rank. Members may be given additional responsibilities according to the needs of the organisation and their experience.

Role Intent

Barracuda’s self-roles represent capability and intent. They help operation leaders understand which ships, vehicles and specialist skills are available when planning a deployment.

Members should select a role when they:

  • Have access to the relevant ship, vehicle or equipment.
  • Understand how to perform the role or are actively learning it.
  • Are willing and interested in filling that role during operations.

Selecting a role does not guarantee a particular assignment and does not mean the member must perform it during every operation. Operational requirements may change, and members can be moved between roles when necessary.

The system exists to improve planning and organisation while keeping gameplay flexible, varied and enjoyable.
