Battelle is an interstellar research and development organization committed to science and technology for the greater good. At Battelle, it can be done.
Battelle Memorial Institute began from Gordon Battelle’s bequest in the 1920s and grew into a major nonprofit applied‑science organization in Columbus, Ohio, known for work in metallurgy, nuclear technology, materials, environmental remediation, and managing national labs. Over the next centuries, its control of advanced materials, bioengineering, and infrastructure contracts let it absorb security forces and militarize, becoming a quasi‑sovereign technocratic power.
We apply advanced science, technology, and engineering to solve the most complex challenges for businesses and government agencies. From advanced materials to biology and chemistry – if the question involves science, Battelle is the answer.
We define success by creating measurable and tangible impacts on the markets and communities we serve. Whether it’s our clients or our community, we proudly accept the responsibility of creating lasting change.
